Mike Oldfield
Today’s post is going to be about Mike Oldfield as he’s my father’s favourite artist.
He is a musician, composer, producer and multiinstrumentalist (someone who plays a lot of intruments)
When he was 10 years old he started writing his own acoustic songs and when he was 15 he formed a group called ‘Sallyeangie’ with her sister. They released two singles and one album.
This is one of his most famous songs:
Later, he joined a group called ‘Kevin Ayers & The Whole World’. In 1971 the group was dissolved and he started a career by himself. As his first work wasn’t as succesful as he expected, he decided to release it again but this time without any help from any recording company, together with Richard Brandsome and it turned out being one of the most sold albums in history.
Does everybody enjoy music?
A new study has shown that some people are incapable of enjoying music.
‘Music isn’t rewarding for them, even though other kinds of rewards, like money, are, it just doesn’t affect them.’
This study has find out that for some people music is no pleasure at all.

My mother’s favourite artist is Phil Collins, so I decided to do this post about him.
He is a singer, composer, pianist, drummer and even an actor. He is one of the most succesful rock artists although he also sings pop rock, progressive rock, pop, soft rock, jazz and big band.
Here you have one of his songs just in case you are interested, I’m sure you know it.
He used to be part of a group called ‘Genesis’ but in the 70s he started singing by himself. The first album he did alone was called ‘Face Value’
Nowadays, Phil Collins has children and he is more a family man than a musician. In 2011 he said he was retiring from music due to a spinal problem that forced him to stop playing the drums.
KCA 2014
The KCA (Kid Choice Awards) is an annual awards show that airs on the Nickelodeon cable channel, which honours the year’s biggest television, movie and music acts, voted by the viewers. It features many celebrity guests and musical acts.
This year, the host is Mark Wahlberg and the awards will be the next 2nd of April at 19:25 (spanish time)
